Each day after school, the GMG Music and Arts Afterschool Academy provide its students with homework assistance, the arts and a nutritious snack in one dynamic after school experience.

In addition to daily core activities there are several enhanced programs available for students to participate in such as:

ASAP (After School Arts Performance)
ASAP includes visual arts, music, dance, drama and poetry classes, and features artists/educators-in-residence working with the GMG Music and Arts Afterschool Program children. Periodically specific programs will conclude with a special culminating performance which will bring together students, families, and community members to celebrate the talent and accomplishments of the children. 


Impact Music
Impact Music takes participants through the steps of songwriting, production and performance.  They will learn the power of lyrics and are challenged to create songs and poetry that will make a positive and lasting Impact on their peers and community.  The end product is an appreciation for team work, positive creative expression and a CD with their original songs.

YOUth Speak
This program uses poetry and gives youth a platform by encouraging them to engage in poetry not only in written form, but also in spoken word by performing their original work and the works of others. 

Friday Open Mic
On select Fridays the participants will have an opportunity to participate in the Friday Open Mic where they can share their talent with their peers. 
Parents are encouraged to attend and participate!

From the performing arts and music events, from community celebrations to team building activities, the GMG Music and Arts Afterschool Academy provides students with countless opportunities to explore their creative potential and broaden their realm of experience in the arts!
